Single moms have it tough, no doubt. But society has come to the party to help them out. First, there's maternity leave. Second, companies and people are much more understanding nowadays when you mention that you need to leave work because of a sick child.
But single dads don't have it as good, especially if they're unemployed.
Men are expected to be the providers. That's probably the one most important thing that is asked of them. So imagine how difficult it must be for a single dad who is incapable of providing for his child - it's the kind of thing that tears you apart inside.
And it's really difficult for men to be both father and mother. We aren't brought up to be soft, we're taught to work hard, play hard, be hard.
Being a single dad is probably one of the hardest jobs ever. I think society needs to be more understanding about our plight.
What do you think? Are you a single dad? Do you have enough support or do you think your community and the government should be doing more to help you?
