My dead baby came alive

It sounds like a miracle. But it’s true. Kate Ogg had given birth to her twins at just 27 weeks. The little girl Emily had been delivered successfully, but then the doctors had given Ogg the news all mothers dread - that after 20 minutes of battling to get her son to breathe, they had declared him dead. Ogg wanted to hold him so she unwrapped his blanket and cuddled him against her chest. She was  unable to let him go. And then a miracle happened. After two hours of cuddling him, her son started to breathe.

She was interviewed on the Australian TV show Today Tonight.  She said the limp baby lay on her chest. Jamie occasionally gasped for air, which doctors said was a reflex action. “But then I felt him move as if he were startled, then he started gasping more and more regularly.”

'I thought, "Oh my God, what's going on",' said Ogg. 'A short time later he opened his eyes. It was a miracle. Then he held out his hand and grabbed my finger. 'He opened his eyes and moved his head from side to side. The doctor kept shaking his head saying, "I don't believe it, I don't believe it".'

A mother's intuition is a powerful force.
